Hiking and bike trails

If you like hiking, going for a walk and observing nature, from Mas de Pellejo you can take many routes, on foot or by bike, through the many paths that run through the estate and its surroundings, and that connect with the neighboring towns: Calaceite (one of the most beautiful towns in Spain), Caseres, Arens de Lledó, where you can take a dip in its natural pools, and Lledó, from where you can join the Val Zafán greenway (an old railway line that years ago connected Híjar with Tortosa and that nowadays is fully recovered as trail to do it with the whole family).

In Caseres and Arens de Lledó you can join a new BTT route, which Pedales del Matarraña has designed with a route of 194 km, and 4,900 meters of elevation, which you can bike in several days/stages.

The environment of the Matarraña River, with its spectacular landscapes and nature, also offers different routes that will make you fall in love. We recommend two from the town of Beceite: Pesquera route (Ulldemó river), a five-kilometre path parallel to the river dotted with natural pools, and Parrizal route (Matarraña river), in which, in addition to the wonderful landscape you can see the cave paintings of Fenellassa and a botanical route.

Climbing and canyoning

In the neighboring towns of Tarragona (Horta de Sant Joan and Arnes) you can enjoy countless areas for climbing at any level, both towns are about 14km from our accommodation, and in our region you can enjoy this sport in the towns of Peñarroya de Tastavins and Torre de Arcas.

For lovers of canyoning there are several options, such as the Penyagalera Canyon, the Racó de Guera ravine, the Na Graus ravine, and the Ferrer Brut ravine.

Historical and cultural heritage

Matarraña region is a place of confluence of different cultures (Iberians, Romans, Muslims, Christians...) that have left their mark on the monumental towns in the area that really worth a visit: La Fresneda, Beceite, Calaceite, Cretas, Valderrobres...

Another aspect that highlights our region is the number of Iberian settlements that we can visit, such as the Iberian Settlement of San Cristóbal (Mazaleon), the Iberian-Roman Settlement Torre Cremada (Valdeltormo), the Iberian Settlement Els Castellans (Cretas), or the Settlement Iberian of San Antonio (Cerro de San Cristóbal - Calaceite).

The Tourism department of Matarraña region has created some very interesting routes through its towns to see and enjoy its fantastic natural and artistic treasures.
