Farm & Field

Regain your senses

At Mas de Pellejo you can participate in the tasks of the orchard, the vineyard, the olive grove, the animals... we will immerse you in the life of the countryside and its tasks, you will enjoy nature in its purest form, observing, getting to know, learning...

We are looking forward to seeing you soon!

OUR ANIMALS

At Mas de Pellejo we have a space reserved for our farm with chickens, ducks, pheasants, peacocks...

Depending on the time of year you visit us, you will have the opportunity to see the birth of the chicks, collect the eggs that we will use to make the delicious breakfasts that we serve you, or relax and enjoy watching how they placidly peck the grass...

olive grove

In this typical region of olive trees, the empeltre variety predominates, an olive of medium weight and elongated with which we produce a delicious oil.

We are recovering and adapting the olive grove to harvest the olives by hand, as in the past. We have planted green manure to enrich and nourish the soil, while protecting it from the cold winters and hot summers in the area, and helping to better collect the scarce rains.

We collect olives for our consumption, either for table use ("aceituna muerta de Aragón") or for oil, which we make in a manual press.

Season: November to January

almond trees

The almond tree, a travel companion throughout the Matarraña region, offers a wonderful landscape when it begins to bloom (increasingly earlier due to climate change) announcing the arrival of spring.

At the end of August, we throw nets on the ground and begin to collect the almonds (largueta, común and marcona) that we then use to make our caramel-coated almonds, dressings for sauces, marzipan, nougat (turron), shortbread (polvorones), and almond milk.

Season: September

vineyard

The vineyard, along with the olive tree and the almond, are the crops that sustain this region.

At Mas de Pellejo estate we have one hectare of old vines (Tempranillo, Garnacha, Syrah and Macabeo) located on terraces on the banks of the ravine, which we care for ecologically based on permaculture.

At harvest time, in mid-September, we collect, de-stem and press the grapes. The rest of the wine process is marked by nature and the ideas that the winemaker has at that time.

Season: September

vegetable garden

We consider organic farming a necessary model for healthy and sustainable nutrition and development.

We invite you to come to our vegetable garden and see how we work it, what its processes are (from seedbed to harvest) and the different types of fruit, vegetables, and aromatic plants that we grow. You will feel how you are hooked by contact with the land and the life that is generated in an organic garden.

You can pick that fruit or vegetable that you like so much and eat it raw, in jam or preserved, because when the orchard gives in excess, nothing is thrown away.

Season: February - March (seedbed), Mark - April (move to the garden), June - October (harvest).
